A haute couture house founded in Rome in 1945 specializing in the sale of handmade menswear. Master tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and his partner Geatano Savini opened their first store in Rome at the end of World War II. The name of the house Brioni derives from the Italian name for the Croatian island complex Brijuni. The first fashion show for the house of Brioni was held in 1952 at the Renaissance Pitti Palace in Florence, Italy. The Kering group (formerly PPR) in 2011 acquired the Brioni house among the renowned houses Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen. From its inception to the present day it has developed a strong international appeal, and has established itself and established itself in men's haute couture fashion shows as well as in the bespoke clothing industry.
